Tandoori chicken wraps are a delicious dinner idea packed full of protein. This easy homemade chicken tortilla wraps recipe is amazing. A spicy tandoori chicken cheese filling with lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, and red onions lathered with a refreshing mint dip encased in a soft flour tortilla.

This chicken wraps recipe is the best combination of flavour. These homemade wraps can be eaten for lunch or dinner, hot or cold. There is no marination time, so these chicken wraps are so quick to make. Adults and children alike will be guaranteed to love them.

I love chicken and I love wraps. I make all sorts of different chicken wraps from spicy ones to cheesy ones to healthy ones. There is just something about those chunks of chicken in the soft flour tortilla that I can’t get enough of.

 

 

I developed this recipe for my sister because she loves spices. Everything she eats must have a load of spices. Otherwise, she complains and says it’s too bland. To balance out the spice I made a mint dip. It’s a simple dip recipe. All the recipe involves is yoghurt with mint sauce and a dash of salt. I also like to use cheese in this wrap recipe because I love the combination of cheese and chicken.

This recipe does not take long at all to prepare. Especially if you prepare it beforehand. The marinade can be made the night before to allow the chicken to tenderise and absorb all the flavour. However, if you don’t have the time for that simply allow it to marinate for a minimum of 30 minutes. As the chicken marinates you can prepare the rest of dinner.

This chicken filling is enough for approximately eight tortilla wraps which is all good because wraps usually come in packs of eight. You can add whichever salad you want to, but I like to add lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber, and red onions. Apart from for my little sister because she hates all forms of onions, so I don’t add onions into hers. Although one day I am going to secretly give her onions. I want to see if she will notice.

These chicken wraps are perfect served alongside some French fries!

Ingredients
  

Tandoori Chicken Marinade

  • 800 g Chicken
  • 5 tbsp Yoghurt
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 tbsp Tandoori Masala
  • 1 tsp Kashmiri Chilli Powder
  • 1 tsp Salt/Namak
  • 1 tsp Chilli Powder/Laal Mirch Powder
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder/Lehsan Powder
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder/Haldi
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala

Mint Dip

  • 200 g Yoghurt
  • 1 tsp Mint Sauce
  • ½ tsp Salt/Namak

Wraps

  • Cheddar Cheese
  • 8 Tortilla Wraps
  • Lettuce
  • Tomatoes
  • Cucumber

Instructions
 

  • Cut the chicken into small bite-size pieces and add into a bowl
  • Add the marinade ingredients to the chicken then mix until all the ingredients are fully combined and set aside for 30 minutes
  • Once the chicken has been marinated heat up a pan on medium heat and add the marinated the chicken
  • Cook the chicken for 5-7 minutes then cover and cook for 15 minutes until the chicken is cooked through
  • Remove the lid and cook for 5 minutes or until any excess water is dried up
  • To make the dip mix the ingredients for the mint dip together until combined
  • Spread the mint dip across the middle of the tortilla wrap
  • Spoon the mixture on top of the mint dip then add the chicken filling and top with shredded lettuce, red onions, cucumber, diced tomatoes, and cheese
  • Fold the tortilla wraps to form a wrap then heat up a griddle pan and add the folded wraps
  • Add the wraps and grill on high heat for 1-2 minutes on either side until grill marks appear
  • Your cheesy tandoori chicken wraps are ready!
