Ingredients

  • 6 Samosas
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 240 g Chickpeas canned
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 Tomato
  • 1 tbsp Tamarind Sauce imlee
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Cumin Powder
  • 1 tsp Chilli Powder
  • 1 tsp Chaat Masala
  • 1 Green Chilli

Green Chutney

  • 2 tbsp Water
  • 50 g Mint
  • 25 g Coriander
  • 10 Green Chillies
  • 5 Garlic Cloves
  • 1 inch Ginger
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Lemon Juice

Garnishes (optional)

  • Onion finely diced
  • Tomato finely diced
  • Green Chilli finely chopped
  • Yoghurt whisked
  • Coriander finely chopped

Instructions

  • In a pan, heat up the oil then add the finely diced onions along with the salt and cook for 3-4 minutes until softened
  • Add the finely chopped tomatoes then cook for another 2-3 minutes until the tomato breaks downs
  • Add the spices and cook for a further 3-4 minutes – add a splash of water if required to prevent the spices from burning
  • Add the chickpeas, green chilli, and tamarind sauce then cook for 1-2 minutes
  • Meanwhile, cook the samosas as desired and prepare the yoghurt and the rest of the garnish ingredients then it is time to assemble the samosa chaat
  • To make the green chutney, in a food processer add all the green chutney ingredients and blend until all the ingredients are broken down and form a thick paste
  • Place the samosas into a large serving tray and use hands or fork to break down then top with the chickpea mixture and the rest of the garnish ingredients
  • Your samosa chaat is ready!
