Meethi seviyan is a much-loved Eid dessert that is so simple to make, yet so delicious to make. This simple dessert recipe is a popular Indian dessert prevalent all over Pakistan and India that is made with only four ingredients: vermicelli, butter, sugar and water.

Meethi seviyan is a much-loved Eid dessert that is so simple to make, yet so delicious to make. An absolute treat to serve after a heavy meal and perfect for the rush of Ramadan and Eid.

Ingredients

  • 300 g Vermicelli Nests Seviyan
  • 130 g Butter
  • 150 g Granulated Sugar
  • 600 ml Water hot

Instructions

  • In a large pot melt the butter on low heat until completely melted
  • Add the vermicelli nests then break apart before browning on medium heat for 3-4 minutes, ensuring that you stir every so often to prevent the vermicelli from burning
  • Add the hot water and the granulated sugar, ensuring that all the vermicelli strands are submerged in the water, then cover and cook for 15 minutes on low heat
  • Remove the lid and cook for 1-2 minutes to allow any excess water to evaporate
  • Your meethi seviyan are ready!
