Lamb chops are not something that I used to choose to have, not much of a lamb chops person. With this lamb chops recipe, I have wanted to make these masala lamb chops again and again. I wouldn’t really call this a traditional lamb chops recipe. However, it takes the classic Pakistani flavours to transform this dish. A more classic lamb chops recipe is my tandoori lamb chops.

Some people find it difficult to cook lamb chops or mutton chops. But with this easy lamb chop recipe you will have the best lamb chops you’ve ever tasted with minimal effort. Cooking lamb can sometimes be daunting, and everyone always has their own way of eating it. However, with this simple recipe there is no need to worry.

Obviously, the marinade time is a bit long and tedious. But, it helps to soften the lamb up to make it easier to cook. I would highly recommend that you leave this lamb chops marinade overnight. This would help make the lamb soft and moist. However, this step is not crucial.

A lot of recipes online use garlic paste and ginger paste. I always prefer to use fresh garlic and fresh ginger. I never actually have any ginger or garlic paste on hand just because once you open it, it goes off relatively quickly. Plus, my mum says no. When I do use the paste, I always crush the garlic and ginger myself using a pestle and mortar. It is up to personal preference and ease if you wish to substitute the garlic and ginger for the paste. In this recipe the ginger and garlic can be replace with 1 tsp of the paste versions.

This easy lamb chops recipe could be used as a mutton chops recipe. Just be sure to adjust the cooking time accordingly as mutton always takes longer to cook. Depending on the size and thickness of the lamb the cooking time can vary significantly. It can take as little as 30 minutes or up to an hour or even longer. If you have thick lamb chops, then use a meat mallet or rolling pin to make them thinner.

These lamb chops go well with most things, so you can always mix dinner up. I’m always confused with what to serve with lamb chops as there are so many possibilities. Well in theory there are but my siblings will only eat a select few.  However, you choose to enjoy these lamb chops I know you will love them.

This masala lamb chops recipe is perfect for your weeknight dinners.
