Ingredients

  • 50 ml Olive Oil
  • 3 Onions
  • 10 Garlic Cloves
  • 4 Tomatoes
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 2 tsp Chilli Powder
  • 1 tsp Turmeric Powder/Haldi
  • 800 g Mince
  • 2 Bullet Chillies
  • Coriander
  • 1 tsp Dried Fenugreek Leaves/Methi
  • 200 ml Water
  • 150 g Frozen Peas
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds/Jeera crushed

Instructions

  • Heat the vegetable oil in a pan on medium heat until hot then add the finely diced onions and cook for 4-5 minutes until softened
  • Add the sliced garlic cloves and cook for 3-4 minutes
  • Add the chopped tomatoes and cook for 4-5 minutes until softened
  • Add the salt, chilli powder and turmeric powder then cook the spices for 6-8 minutes – you may need to add a few tablespoons of water to prevent the spices from burning
  • Add the mince and break apart and cook for 6-8 minutes on medium heat
  • Cover and cook for 20 minutes on medium heat
  • Add the frozen peas and the water then cover and cook for 6-8 minutes
  • Add the finely sliced bullet chillies and crushed cumin seeds then cook for 1-2 minutes
  • Your keema matar is ready!
